Title: Power steering pulley,
Post by: beechymonza on 15 October 2011, 16:02
Ok so my mate has changed my Cam Belt this morning, An i asked him 2 have a look at my power steering cause cant seem 2 get it tight enough 2 stop it screeching on stationary turning of wheel,
He fixed that with a new bolt on tensioner,
But he noticed my bottom pulley is not in line with other pulleys, And reckons this is a common fault on VWs, And can be fixed with a couple of big washers behind pulley,
Does anybody on here know about this,,

yep. a couple of washers should be ok on the ps pulley. I did end up un-doing all the PS pump bolts and moving the thing over a couple mm (tap it with a mallet). All lined up
