Which is the most purchased gearbox?
Which car and gearbox combo did you buy / do you own???
What if they have bought more than one or have one on the way?
-
Yeah, can I have two votes please Mr Thread Starter?
I could happily live with either so will sit on the fence. The only negative thing I can say about DSG was the only time I drove one my left leg was flapping about like a freshly landed salmon because I'm not used to driving an autobox.

Then you can't vote!
You drive a manual so vote manual. Easy peasy.
As I have said, one owner, one car, one gearbox, one vote.

SO do you want us to choose the car we have, the car we have have on order, the car we'd like to have etc? :undecided:

For what it's worth my 2p bet is that the most common type will be a GTI + MANUAL :nerd:

Interesting , down under the numbers seems to range somewhere between 15 - 25% of GTI's are manuals, Aussies have have always liked their automatics (in whatever form - DSG,PKD, etc))

For what it's worth my 2p £2 bet is that the most common popular type will be a GTI + MANUAL :nerd:

I expect DSG will be most popular on this forum but in production figures i would expect the manual to be more popular.
-
I think it was fairly even in mk5 form, but there seems to be more manuals in mk6 as people have realised their mistake when they brought their mk5. Each to their own and all that but one word sums up dsg. Boring.

One owner but had two cars and chose manual both times, so I want two votes or I'm going to sit in the corner and sulk.

Dearest heart, the thread heading has changed to 'current' car. So you can now vote correctly and avoid the sulk.
-
You changed the thread title just for me? I'm touched. Humour me please!!!
PS. I voted in the wee hours of this morning.

Both you and Doc seemed a bit peeved. You were also getting greedy and sulking.
Being so accommodating, I altered the heading ....... just for you and a bit for Doc.
I am a firm believer in one man one vote ......... when it suits me.

Interesting thread this one.
I would have thought it would be around 50/50 manual/DSG, that's what I was told by my dealer when buying.
Thats the impression I got whenever this debate comes up on here, maybe the DSGers are just louder.
Or maybe dealers are pushing the DSG , any comments evo?
Trade in price of a 3yr old mk5 DSG is a couple of hundred more than a manual.
-
I'll lock the voting once it hits fifty: if it ever does.
This would be a good enough sample.
