Very old video but remember it well.  Saw an amazing mk1 go just like this.  Incredible to think how easily it could have been put out when it first stared if only he had a small extinguisher.

As old as the internet.

No sympathy. He filmed it instead of trying to kill it. Wnaker.

Indeed we are surrounded by water but our old ships dont leak inside unlike others  plus if we shed our uneven weight distribution we travel faster than most mk4's (in standard form)

I don't understand why you'd just stand there filming and let it burn

Fair enough it got out of control quite quickly but he could have easily attempted to put it out at the start. I carry an extinguisher but whether it still works or not is another matter  :lipsrsealed:

years ago i had a beetle go up in flames. it was a horrible experience.

the previous night was spent reintsalling a newly breathed on engine. bigger capacity, big webber carb, bigger valves, ported and polished. went like stink.

as we were messing about with lead lamps and fuel lines i took the fire extinguisher out of the car and took it to the engine bay. next day up and on to test out the new mods, totally forgetting to put the extinguisher back in the car.

i am sure you can guess the rest
