Title: Exhaust fumes on paintwork...
Post by: Liftedd on 13 October 2011, 19:33
When i brought the car it looked like it hadn't been washed in years, turns out it was 2years.
So i wash it and wax it regularly now because i like a clean car but since ive had it the paintwork has small black spots all over mainly the boot/rear bumper and both sides of the car its really annoying.

Im pritty sure the exhaust on the car has done most of the damage to the rear but i dont really understand how it could to the side of the car?

Okay so this is the problem : Most of this wipes off but theirs always small black dots left over  :undecided:

Its properly because of this :

Anything i could do to try and restore the paintwork?

Sides will be road tar. Get a good quality tar remover like tardis on it. May b worth claying it to remove other contaminants too.

As above they are tar spots and well recommended seanl tardis is a great product for removing tar spots, other contamination will be fallout from brake dust etc which will be pitted into the paint and as seanl has said it will need claying to remove it but firstly id suggest spraying with ironx to break the particals down fully as claying only removes surface contaminants, ironx gets right into the paint and safely disolves the particals, great product for heavily contaminated paint.
