I'm guessing I'll be fine with the loss of pressure code, but would the running rich code give me trouble at the MOT?
Basically I've been having trouble with my lambda reading and on inspection my lambda sensor was f**ked. Since fitting a new one I'm now getting these codes. The other 2 readings were fine it just failed on lambda reading
I'm guessing that now having a working o2 sensor my emissions wont suddenly fly up and cause a fail, but do you think I'll be fine now with a working lambda to get it retested or will this new code cause me new problems?
Quick answers please its booked in for the retest at 13.45 today! cheers :)

think you should be ok, afterall its only exhaust gases that they measure so your 02 sensor is irrelevant really. Its all down to what is actually spittin out the back of your pipes! Not what your ECU thinks is coming out
Sounds like it may be the wrong 02 sensor youve fitted or maybe a faulty one....?

Boost leak.

As above , boost leak. Mine does this

Its definitely the right sensor and the garage tested it so its working. Could a boost leak cause the running rich code? all I'm worried about is the lambda reading really as thats all it failed on last time
edit: goddam auto correct :P

The boost leak causes the running rich, both codes usually hold hands.

cheers :) I just been reading about it on google found a lot of helpful threads on uk-mkivs so looks like I got my work cut out trying to pinpoint it, screw all that for now though I need this MOT pass today or I'm gonna cry
-
I'm sure it'll pass. It'll only go rich for a moment under load with boost.
-
yeah I'm not sure if the code is related to the fail as I would of thought if anything too rich would mean not enough o2 in the system? It failed with a high lambda reading but hoping that the new o2 sensor will fix that (old one wires were chewed up from rubbing against the driveshaft!)
retest in a couple of hours so fingers crossed :P gonna take it for a blast in a bit to get it nice and warm, toying with the idea of going to the autofactors and getting some of this emission lowering stuff to mix with the fuel but not sure how much it would help if anything at all

Passed  must of just been down to the lambda wiring

Good job. I seem to remember too that the 02 sensor can throw up one of those codes. I've had it too, but have a boost issue aswel which needs to be sorted and soon will be I hope.

I cleared the codes after the test and did a few errands so probably covered around 10-15 miles, I got a new code for the evap system which I'm not too sure about as the evap is deleted on mine and its never come up before (6 months since removing it) but no more boost or rich codes :) though I've read it can take a while for them to come back
still well chuffed with the MOT though
