Title: Hi everyone! New MK3 8v GTI owner

Hey everyone,
I've just bought an 8v MK3 GTI off of a mate so thought I'd have a browse and see what stuff I can find on them, and here I am ^_^
The car is a 95 model with 113k on the clocks, and I paid £150 for it! At that price I couldn't say no, although it needs 2 wheel bearings, a CV joint and a tyre to pass it's MOT.

I look forward to getting involved with this forum and hopefully joining in some meetings in the future :)

sounds like you gotta bargin!!

get yourself over to the mk3 section loads of advice and mostly friendly people there, (you'll only get a bit of stick if you ask a stupid question lol)

Thanks, from what I've seen so far there's an absolute wealth of info on these cars here, I've already found out loads of things to look out for and things to do to keep it up to scratch. First things first though, I'm starting work on the car this weekend so the bearings and hopefully the CV will be sorted and I'll pop down the scrappy for a part-worn before booking it's MOT!
