Title: Intercooler Hard Piping
Post by: Yohan on 11 October 2011, 14:39
Afternoon all,

I'm posting this in the remapping section as my car is currently down at R-Tech.

Although leak free, I've never really been happy with the amount of silicone in my pipework and with future plans of water injection it's not ideal to tap a nozzle in to.

Are there any places down that neck of the woods who can make up a couple of hard pipes for hot side/cold side which have minimal silicone joins?

Ideally there would only be 2 joins on the coldside (1 at chargepipe, 1 at IC) and 2 at hot side (1 leaving IC and 1 at the TB)

Cheers,

John

Try exhaust fabricators, some will have tools for mandrel bends and be willing to help. I got quoted £200 for a FMIC install with just the core supplied and all the piping made from stainless steel. But I went diy and it didn't work out cheaper, more hassle than its worth but I did get some tools in the process.
