Post by: tonysgti on 11 October 2011, 06:20
Does anyone no of any vw headunit swaps, as in mk5 into a mk4? Basically I am trying to get rid of the tape player in my mk4. I already have the cd unit but would like a vw double din

Hi, CD players with changer control, choice of 2 units...

Delta 6... compliments the look of the dash very well, was available as an option from VW from 2002>
RDS: Yes
MP3 playback: No
CD changer control: Yes

RCD200... nice modern looking stereo which is possible to fit into Mk4
RDS: Yes
MP3 playback: Yes
CD Changer control: Yes

Both of the above stereos are canbus units meaning you will have to use a ISO to Quadlock wiring adaptor and wire in canbus High and Low if your car is 2001> model, or if your car is a pre 2001 model then you'll need a ISO to Quadlock wiring adaptor with a canbus emulator built in.

Steering wheel controls/FIS: Delta 6 I think from info I've sourced so far will work with both, RCD200 won't work with either on Mk4

There were also 2 navi units that were optional from VW back in the day, that you can fit if you want to go down the Navigation route.
