Title: Traffic Updates
Post by: RedHP on 10 October 2011, 16:48
I noticed that, on my way work this morning, there were no messages at all which I thought was a little odd. As if anything at all, there might be 2 or 3 at a minimum at 6am.
On my way home at 4pm, again throughout the journey absolutely nothing.

Has anyone else experienced this. I tried the setup but to no avail.

I travel 70 miles a day to and from work and do end up reliant on this, so help would be appreciated !

Thanks boys & girls

same for me, dead as a dodo and I drove from cheltenham to Gatwick via M4, M3, M25, M23 all peak rush hour monday morn, no traffic updates - ergo no traffic hold ups - I dont think so - especially since the RDS siad the roads were mayhem and woe, as was a lot of my journey, I guessed the network was out, am in Croatia now so don't know if back up..... use the RDS and cross your fingers till it is back online..... I could always phone the valet parking guy sure he has a few days of thrashing the ar$e off my car whilst I am away....

Heart kicked in twice this morning in Chelt at 7:30 and again at 8:00.  Ensure TP is lit on the front and its based on what you are tuned to if I go out of cheltenham/glos heart for some reason they come from Classic FM???

maybe we are talking about different things? The traffic updates on the RDS / TP worked well, it was the traffic messages on the RNS 510 that were out, when you pressed the traffic message button (does it work off traffic master?) then it came up as no messages....

I had no traffic messages either this morning which I thought was strange!!  Its the first time I've looked in months as I don't usually drive in rush hour so I can't say if its different from usual though.

I still get the issue intermittently, so have spoken with VW and they reckon that the software requires upgrading...!?
Hmm....!

This also means another visit to the dealership and a Fox as a courtesy car, wonderful !

Linked to the 3 day Blackberry outage this week perhaps? Maybe they share data centre services with Trafficmaster?

Good point, Mr Geordie, I didn't think about that.
But why would VW suggest that my software requires upgrading..? Its only a year old and how often would I have to book in with them for this upgrade, can't it be done remotely?

They shouldn't need it all day, can't you pop in and drink all their tea and coffee whilst you wait?

Or am I just used to Audi Dealers?
