Title: Newish trick maybe?
Post by: Kazama76 on 09 October 2011, 21:59
Heard a rumour of mixing your polish and t-cut (50/50 mix) works a treat. I gave it a go on my mk3 golf and it worked awesome, i did use a buffer to finish it off. The swirl make are pretty much ZERO.
Obviously i/you wont use this all the time as youd hae no paint left by the new year.

I don't think I'll be trying that any time soon, I'm sure there are 'proper' products which do a far better job. Which polish did you mix the T cut with?

The paint work was a bit shabby and dull, i tried t cutting it and polishing but left it the same.

i'm not sure i'd recommend that myself... the problem with t-cut is that the polish doesn't degrade the more that you work it... so it will always be very aggressive

have you been left with any swirls or holograms?

t-cut i find doesnt last long either

my mom once had a red corsa, my brother t-cut it, it looked ok, next day however it was back to its dull self

get some pics up of the results if you could please mate

i'd rather buy a newer polish that'll work better, probably struggling with the megs stuff as its non abrasive, try the paint cleaner next time before the polish

t-cut is old technology - i mean you wouldnt be happy if the dr broke out the leeches for a headache instead of dishing out   :grin:some pills

as above, t-cut is old technology for old cars, just imagine what it could do to japanese paints  :undecided

i can see the theory behind it, t-cut doesnt offer much of a glaze, and theres no abrasives in the megs, so 2+2...
