Has anyone studied at home etc to get a degree through an Open University?
Anybody know how it all works and had any experience with it?
Thinking about going down that route. Education wise personally i went to college but never university. Study wise i would be happy to do it at home whilst working.
Just looking for experiences anyone has had really.
THanks

It's hard while working, I did a web development course through the OU. Having to put in a minimum of 30 hours per week is a killer, especially after a long hard day at work when all you want to do is relax have some food and kip, it's why my current course is taking so long.

I was under the impression if working fulltime you dont have to put that much time in per week. Or is it course dependant?
If i was to do one it wouldn't be through work or anything to do with my job.

Their minimum shouldn't be your minimum
What course are you thinking of doing? It should say what their minimum is for the course.

Previous to my current job i done a lot of work around tv production, video editing, graphic design etc. I then done a bit of graphic design and web editing for a company.
I would go along the route of probably computing. I have done an A Level in IT and Graphic Design.
Its what interests me more and i would be wanting to spend my spare time and cash on.
I want to do it more as a personal accomplishment then a back up plan career wise. However with the way the country and economy is going i cant be too careful!

Check with your employers, you may get help/time to commit to it  Unfortunately my employer won't, the say they'll help me but never do  They offered to pay my exams, but they're only £90 each (4 left) and don't won't to owe them anything.
