Title: Help asap!

Hi poeple, today we fitted a new bonnet on the mk2, great so we clossed the bonnet to check the fit etc, pulled on the lever to open the bonnet..nothing, bonnet wont open, but the cable is moving backwards and forwards with the lever! Haynes said you can open it with out the cable but dont clearly say how, or show any pics!
How do I do it????

Screwdriver through the vw badge, a tag drops down in that area. Once you have found it, its easy.
