Title: not a happy bunny
Post by: bricey on 09 October 2011, 13:24
afternoon all,
right it may not seem a big deal to some but this has cheesed me off,
had the bonnet bra on for a few day's-a week, and i have used it before as-well.
as i wanted to wash to car lik i do every sunday.
and to my horror the bra has left a cloudy line across the bonnet, now on the inside of the bra is soft wool stuff and then a strip of leather at the top.
and i wahed and dried the bra before putting it on....
what do i do.is it going to be a re-spray
last week bra on
(http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz234/bricey25/photo.jpg)

washed and i used meg cristal wax/auto glym paint renovator and meg ultimate wax
and it wont bugde, the line spans the lengh of the bonnet and there is some clouding at the very front of the bonnet!!!!

Still don't see it! Maybe try some tardis or similar, or a compound with abrasives.

It was probably objecting to being on a poultry GTI when it was meant for an R

In all serious though you cant have something on your car and it not affect it. Use a glaze or similar, it wont be bad, i cant even see anything!

Bonnet bra's are prone to doing this. Believe water gets trapped underneath and causes the marks you got.

Is it my imagination but I can see loads of cloudy lines on the bonnet. It's even as if I'm looking at the sky.

Moisture! Never cover a car like that, the paint sweats.

got to agree wiv dh on this one, i really dont see the point of them and can only see them causing problems like this as no matter how tight they are on they are still gonna move abit and hence cause damage.
unlucky mate, my advice is put it on ed38 for a ridiculous amount and you 'll get no end of takers

+1 never seen the attraction myself, well to be honest quite the opposite!!
You will get water+grit underthem from the lovely roads we are provided with in the uk  and with movement/vibrations that naturally happens, its just a scaled down version of a sander :undecided:
