Title: Problematic Rear Wiper

The rear wiper on my Mk2 is playing up. The only way to make the rear wiper work is to press and hold the stalk back, as soon as you let go it stops wiping. It doesn't work automatically by pushing the stalk back once. Any ideas what this could be?

Probably broken wires between the tailgate, and the roof, open your tailgate, look top left, and you'll see black rubber sheathing covering the wiring, expose the wiring, and check for broken wires, best way to repair is to add a new section of wire to each damaged section, solder then heat shrink
