Title: BBS RM's.
Post by: ReDBull on 06 October 2011, 16:22
Sadly I sold my MKII GTI earlier in the year. I've still got a few bits in the garage that i need to sell. One of these being a set of 4 BBS RM's. They have all of the original centres,  no kerbing and don't leak. They do however look there age. The shine has gone from the dish and could only be described as in used condition.
So what I'm getting at is how much do they go for now as I've not seen a set for sale for a while. Other than eBay buy it now which is not a good yard stick. Do I sell them in the condition that they are in? Spend the time and money refurbishing them? Or leave them in the garage for another ten years and see how much they go up in value?
Thanks for any advise.

I'll give you 2 pints and a packet of crisps for them..

If you don't need the money or space I would hold on to them, if not anywhere between £400.00 to £600.00 as a measure maybe more on a good day!!

if you can diy it ..would increase the value if you strip the outer lips and repolish them, can get a drill polishing kit for not much

standard and not show condition £250 tops.

Refurbed (expensive and time consuming) - £550 tops with tyres.
Most people are interested in bigger dished sets. standard sets can take a while to shift.

£250 is a bit mean.... They would have to well shagged & need new rims for them to be that low - I would suggest...

OP - Pictures would help!!

I've picked up many sets for about that with tyres and in reasonable condition

Agree with Blue £250 I would have paid no more than 350 with brand new lips polished and shinny?
So lets work it out £400 plus I dont know another £60 for refurb per wheel £640 odd I'm sure I could buy deep dish for that kinda money even if you look at £250+£240=£490 not sure I would pay that either

Yes last year when I picked a set up for a mate.
I don't care what you sell them for and thats why I'm posting on here not in your ad! I'm agreeing with Mr blue and explaining I've seen deep dish go for £500-£700 in better condition.
Not sure why you are so touchy :lipsrsealed: hope you get the money for them mate each to there own
refurb means to me the best they can look strip down refurbed job done

I'm not being touchy I'm out of touch with classic VAG prices now unfortunately. I wish I still had my MKII I had it for five years and saw it's 22nd birth day. It was a hell of alot less trouble in that time than this Spanish piece of c@@p's been in four months!
I'm still think about refurbing them my self just have no time.
