Title: name that noise!!!

pulled up and could hear this squeeling noise....

can only hear it from under car or from wheel arch (drivers) but when bonet is open you cant really hear it from the top....

also it stopped after a short drive  :huh: so bit wierd but dont want somethin to fail on me  :shocked:

Sounds like alternator belt to me  :undecided:

Spray some wd40 onto the alternator belt...does it still squeel?

does sound like a belt sliping or simelar. ide defanitly give the altornator  (sp?) belt a look over

will try this at the weekend but also to mention that lately when i start the car it is very 'tight' to turn like somethin is holding the startwer motor and not lettin it turn easy...... power steerin pump or alternator seizing up??  :undecided:
