i bought some new bosch front pads for my 1.6 driver and they look really different compared to the old pads. the bosch ones look like this

but the old ones look like this (picture from ad on ebay for gti brake pads)

im just a bit baffled as to why they are different and am a bit reluctant to fit the bosch ones
anyone able to shed any light on this?

Top ones look right to me - Did my lads lot long ago...
Could just be a difference in the picture... try and fit them and see what happens if they dont fit then they are wrong!!
Did you get the new metal anti rattle shims??

yeah man i got the clips etc, it just seems that there is alot more surface contact between the pads and disc with the old pads in the bottom picture compared to the new ones in the top pic if that makes sence? im just wondering weather that will make a difference?

I had noticed that BUT I think my lads were the smaller ones and from what little I know I doubt it will make much difference...
I can't see Bosch putting their name to a brake pad that don't perform...

I think they are the smaller engine size ones. :undecided:
