i dont have a pretty picture like you bob... but in my bedroom I have (40" 200hz LED 3DTV)

in addition to a sony 5.1 surround sound system... the one with the golf ball speakers

http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hcs-cinema-surround-kit/ht-is100

whilst all this is hooked up to my ps3

the surround sound kit is fantastic for the bedroom as it also acts as a switcher for virtually anything and saves me having an additional bluray player when its not needed. Has I/O for vertially everything from ipods to tuner, and 4 HDMI slots.... very good bit of kit!

Downstairs I have a musical fidelity amp running off a (pretty old) but great sony CD player connected up to some nice B&W Dm602's

Why is it strange that someone who is single has a single bed? Also live with the 'rents as am not taking out a 120k mortgage to buy a small house and am never renting as that is just stupid. All most as stupid as getting married...

I think I've slept in a double bed since I was about 15.

Gives one plenty of space to play with 'ho's'.

Your stance does rather count on either the property market collapsing or having a big heap of money fall on you from somewhere (this won't work by the way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ew-h0YLKmrc ).

I was very glad to get out from my 'rents place.  The freedom to scratch your nuts in the kitchen without anyone frowning should not be undervalued.

There are other benefits, but I figured this would be one you might understand.

By the way, when your girlfriend breaks up with you and says 'it's not you, it's me' she means 'it's because you live with your parents and have a single bed surrounded by tech'.

HTHs.

Must save on heating in the winter though.

Now with pic

Equipment list:
Polaroid 26inch LCD (any bigger and it wouldn't fit inbetween the chimney and the wall)
Humax PVR9200T - twin tuner freeview PVR
Sony DVD player
Pioneer Dolby/DTS surround sound receiver
Yamaha surround sound speaker set with sub
Acer Aspire netbook for iPlayer stuff

This is plenty for our small living room. No Bluray yet but we don't buy many films because we don't have time to watch them.
The main kit sits in a cabinet that has a perspex panel so that our 2 little kids can't press any buttons.

The Humax PVR really is fantastic, very good EPG and all the functions work so well. When we eventually upgrade to HD, we'll get the Freeview HD version.

Yeah, had ours for about 4yrs too. Probably the best gadget we have. The recording/pausing live tv alone are fantastic. And so easy to use.

I had a Humax HD Freesat PVR for a while, got to say it was a very nice bit of kit.  Very easy to use and great quality picture.

Not as good as the Sky HD box though, so switched in the end

It's like a Sky+ box, but without ultra-chav TV and football and it costs nothing but your normal license fee once you've bought it.

Pause TV, rewind, buffer a couple of hours of what you're watching.  Record and schedule entire series to be recorded.

It is great.

LG LED 32" TV with Wireless adaptor (if it were just me it'd be wired to the router).  It does iPlayer, Youtube, Love Film and a heap of other things

Technics 5.1 processor

Yamaha speakers and a sub.  The speakers need mounting at the moment, but I'm encountering resistance to mounting them on the wall (likely to happen when she's out)

LG Blu-ray.

Oh and The Wife's N64 which was unexpectedly exhumed a couple of weeks ago.

Its hard trying to get a 20% deposit on your own when a 1 bed flat is 100k. Ive looked into the government schemes and the builder ones where they pay the deposit but they anit worth it.
A lad in work bought a new house with no deposit 3 years ago and he has to find 50k to pay the builders in 7 years time while paying 1k a month mortgage

Doing 30k miles a year just driving to and from work isnt helping me with tyres, servicing and things blowing up :lipsrsealed:

If I worked a few miles away Id be saving 6-8k a year straight away!!

Errr, couldn't you spend half that on sharing a place with one or two people much closer to work?

You could spend some of the other half on a double bed and I'll bet a couple of mates wouldn't mind you scratching your nuts in the kitchen nearly as much as your parents (unless you're making them tea at the same time ).
