....got back from there a couple of days ago. A really nice place actually but ruined by some of the worst roads I have ever had the misfortune to drive on. I cant believe it, I drove round the whole island during the week and didnt come across any nice smooth roads. I can see why DH is called Diamond hell!! Then again, I was driving an MG ZR which fell apart at every pothole

This.
There are some good roads, just don't expect glassy-smooth surfaces.
Low traffic density and open roads make up for that though.
-
I hope you've got to the hospital to get that cut looked at, it needs glue or stitches at a quick glance.
-
Looking at that cuts clearly helped my hangover. cheers.
looks like a nice place though from what ivevseen. thinking about taking the gf ovee around spring time next year for a weekend
-
Costs a fortune to take the car. I rarely take it back.
-
i would like to go and check out the roads to see what all the fuss is about, but my car wouldnt even get there, never mind driving around there!
-
Its a really nice place and last weeks weather helped alot but the roads really are awful.
I didnt go to the hospital with the cut cos Im a big girl   :embarassed:
Its healing nicely now though.
-
At least stick it back together with loctite though
-
How the hell did that happen!?
-
went there many moons ago.... the highlight was seeing a xj200 driving at warp speed (the negative was he was coming straight at me on a narrow road... and anyone who has seen one will tell you they are not the slimmest of cars!)
-

That happened when the window dropped into the door and I tried to piece a very stubborn mechanism back together with no tools. :embarassed:
Its working again now though
I thought some of the nice views were the highlight for me, I must be getting old ( I took some pics if anyones interested?).
Oh and also there was this time when the traffic was moving at more than 35mph, that was pretty cool.
-
another victim of our lovely road surfaces
-
Theres a vid on youtube with some civic driver losing it on the military road.
It was probably on rock hard coil overs to just leave the road the way he did.
-
very nice place went there 2 years ago and loved it but the roads are a bit rough other than that some good things to do there
-
We do have one road thats 'relatively' smooth, the dual carriageway
All the others are rally stages, no one ever believes you till they have seen it themselves!

That was my mate Nathan, yes rock hard coilies and a LOT of speed contributed to that. Lucky he went right instead of left as he would have ended up going off the cliff

must of been doing way over a ton when it left the road.
Quite lucky with that one.must of been doing way over a ton when it left the road.
