currently have the dvd based sat nav

what do i need to upgrade to the rns510?

You would obviously need the RNS510 :wink:

You may need to replace the can bus/gateway with a newer version, depending on the age of your car, to avoid the battery drain issue. Usually cars from March 2007 are fine (Can Bus version K or later).
