My Current golf I used to pay £400 to insure, now it's just over £500, other companies wanted £800.
My old MK2 Golf which I'm looking at buying again is now like £700 to insure! I'm 30 now and I paid nothing like that even when I had the car when I was 24!
A Mk5 will cost a grand to insure!
What's going on?

Area? Mine went down this year :undecided:
-
mine has never gone up. *touch wood*
still a bloody rip of though due to age
-
Lots of uninsured drivers in accidents
People claiming for "injuries" sustained
to name a couple
-
cold winters with more snow making more crashes in recent years.
recesion proberbly part of it with people not being able to afford to get winter tyres/maintain car properly and this causing crashes or problems which lead to the car being a right off.

I have never used the same insurance company for more than 12 months.
Always go on the comparison sites when its due for renewal.

Same as mine £380 last year and £520 this year. Nothing has changed on my part and I live in a low crime area.
£520 was the cheapest I could get from Brentacre was getting quotes between £700 and £1200 :lipsrsealed:

More Insurance payouts = Higher Premiums.

Try 1st Central. I was a bit sceptical at first, due to some of the feedback on various review sites, however most of the feedback seemed to date back to 2008 when it seems the company was first conceived. They were the cheapest by about £200. My direct line insurance went up by £50, even though nothing had changed.
I'm paying about £380 for my MK3 at the moment. 25yrs old and living in a low crime area.

too many dodgy claims, i was offered to write my car off 3 times last year involved them claiming on my insurance and them giving me £500 cash.. yeah right think i was born yesterday, after they claim for a 20k car plus 10 peoples whiplash insurance would be threw the roof for years to come, shove the £500 where sun dont shine i said politely

insurance companies got so much money im sure if they invested abit more then they could feck the bestards that are fecking us over! its getting to a point where people got no choice and stop driving or drive uninsured which means higher premiuns for us folks! its a shame realy
