to grease up your starter motor after cleaning it to stop the squeeling?

was gonna post in mk4 but supose its general across all the golf ranges and gets seen by more people here but mods if you would prefer it in the mk4 section/garage feel free to move.

Get some grease from a motor factors.

thought that might have been the answer, just didnt wana fork out 5 or 10 quid for a big tub of it. unless someone knows anywere in darlo that will sell it?

No idea mate.

Vaseline is just too thin and will just melt to liquid with heat.

thats what i was thinking it would do and would need re greasing after a few months.

looks like im gonna have to go to halfords, hopefully my mates on and will give me it for mates rates. i.e. free  :grin:

Get some real grease, any multipurpose grease will do by comma or castrol. You will get you're use out off it eventually.

Vaseline is to poor in any heat exposure, even using it in a door hing it will liquify on a hot day, avoid!

its pure petroleum and you know how bad petrol is with heat  :grin:
