Just seen these come up on gaybay.... OUCH....
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150670416351
I bought a scrapper with the complete set, Genuine water bottle, pumps & pipes etc for not much more than this asking price....
-
that's ridiculous...
-
about £40 each from vw last time i picked some up.
The caps are obsolete. Classic parts might have them?
That seller is a bullsh!tter with the ''i missed the auction'' rubbish at the end of his description.

Cos you've gotta get out the car to do that.... & it's "Up Yours" in Scene Points... BUT Only if you have the 8L water bottle!!!

whats wrong with just not cleaning them untill its time to clean the whole car

Who would want them saft things stuck on there big bumper anyway,
Surely they would break up the aero-dynamicness of the mk2 golf front end,

what good are water jets for your lights without wipers anyway, the power from a water jet won't clean anything off

So the millions of cars that have them fitted ex factory now - are just fitted as a gimmick???
-
well i've never seen the point in them... if you spray water on your windscreen without using the wipers, it'll do jack sh*t

It's a different type of spray and much ore powerful MY RS6 had them and they worked well... :smug:
-
i had them on my bravo and when i upgraded to the abarth front bumper i didn't even bother putting them on again cause they were shocking, plus they look terrible aha and fiats are well known for having brilliant electrics *cough cough*
-
fiat
Says it all.....
-
yeah man! aha still i wash my car every weekend anyway so light washers seem rather pointless :nerd:
-
Whether or not a pissy spray of water will dislodge the burnt-on dead bugs etc., you've got to admit that the 8L washer bottle used with these looks the part under the bonnet. It's fooking massive!
-
I had these on a J-plate Audi A6 from new. They worked OK and kept the headlights clean but operated at the same time as the wash wipe which seemed a bit OTT. The downside was that they didn't half use some washer fluid e.g. on a trip from Yorkshire to london and back on a winter's day the wash bottle would be completely empty.
-
I think they look sh!te 2 be fair, Big ugly things on ya front bumper,
Rip em off an make it look like a proper GTI
-
I love them and they are staying. Lucky i have a mint set of genuine bumpers stored away if I get fed up

'Golf' plates have been played out now. Currently working on some other scene plates for some more points
-
Look like 2 black half enders on ya bumper
-
Epic fail imo- on both vw's and the dumb customers behalf..
-
Everyone who says that ends up liking them. They are an EPIC win
£300 is an epic fail.
btw im very clued up thank you
-
Sorry Dumb was the wrong word! They are quite useless though, to pay for them is silly, so is to expect results from them, and to carry the extra 4kg ballast??!! Never. The 4l bottle looks ridiculous enough imo. Have seen them many a time, and me no like

My Mk2 came with headlight washer jets from the factory and I must admit they do grow on you, to the extent that to me they don't look quite right without them anymore. Although I do have a little bit of an obsession with optional extras so I guess I'm a little biased. It's all personal preference at the end of the day but I think that look fantastic and that little bit different.

Edit to add that £300 for the jets alone is ridiculous! :)
-
I like them in an OEM+ kind of way. If I dropped on a set at a bargin price, I would go for them, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to find a set.
The problem with them is they spray screen wash all over your bonnet, however this would not be a problem for me, as the only time the screen washer gets used it at MOT time.

Thanks, credit for the condition has to go to one of the previous owners, there's a thread on here somewhere documenting the respray and replacement parts he had fitted. I've done a few bits and pieces since I've owned it, this pic was taken a few months back now.

The 3-400 miles my Golf does a year are never in the rain, and if it does happen to get the odd fly squashed on it, that gets removed as soon as I get home. Sad, but true.
