Title: Vento Front End Insurance declaring
Post by: CM690 on 29 September 2011, 23:07
I want to put a vento front end on my Golf and I guess I should declare it so I don't get stung if anything was to happen. To those who have already done this to their car how was your insurance affected? It's not something i want to do then not declare as it is a significant mod to the car though I can't see it changing much price wise due to it only being visual changes :)

It needs declaring but should make little or no difference in costs

As above, it does need to be declared, if you are with a specialist insurer then it may not cost any extra, if you are with a non-specialist there could be a ridiculous charge or they not even be able to continue your policy.

I COULDN'T insure it specifically.

TPS would only give me the same part numbers for the headlights and the insurance company were like "it doesn't make any difference, it's all the same".

Just insured it under "exterior body modifications" in the end. :)

Thanks for the replies, yeah I will declare it though I wasn't too sure how I was gonna list it :p I'll give them a ring before hand to see what they say about it then if it's not too bad go ahead with it :D

Hoping to get away with it being added for free

It is not something my company or a decent specialist insurer would load a premium for..
