Title: Mk2 Golf GTI 16V overtaken by 1.0 VVT-i Toyota Yaris Disgrace

I'm still shocked by this, but tootling along in Sheffield this morning doing a nice 32mph in a 30mph zone, I got overtaken on a narrow single carriageway by a 1 litre Yaris going up a hill. I was so shocked at the lack of respect shown to the Golf that I let them go by whilst waving to me as they sailed past!

If I was driving an 8-valver then maybe I could have understood them fancying a pop, but a 16-valver? WTF were they thinking???

Just goes to show, a yaris doing 40mph is quicker than a golf traveling at 32mph.

Im always a little upset when other road users so much as get im my way when driving my mk2. RESPECT YOUR ELDERS.

see if you were in an 8v you would have kept up. torques needed for hills  :laugh:

Old tho aint they... most people probably just see it as an old box shaped car so assume its slow  :lipsrsealed:

If they were quicker i'd defintely have a saloon one  :lipsrsealed:

Well, yes, hence my post. I managed to sleep last night and everything, but come on, a 1.sh!t Yaris taking on a valver? And waving?

I was listening to Radio 4 at the time, so perhaps that explains it  :laugh:
