Post by: jockgti on 29 September 2011, 18:06
driving home tonight my car died at a roundabout,i quickly restarted not wanting people to think i've stalled it and it went ok briefly then started chugging and nearly cutting out, scanned when i got home and got 16847 and 01314 i checked Ross-tech,see below, does 1 have anything to do with the other?

that light comes on with a MAF fault (depending on the code). Dunno why but it does. I think it even pops a cluster DTC showing "check engine control module memory" iirc.

have a look at the fuses on the battery too :afro:

yes its ya MAF jock, mine does it now and again.  Your eng mngt light wil come on soon.  New MAF, clear fault.... all good.  Ensure you keep your receipt then if it goes again like mine has done twice, you can wip it back to the stealers for a free MAF under warranty!

Hi
Before putting in a new one, try spraying some Switch cleaner onto the element of the Maf sensor. What year is the car ?
