Title: Re-map for £99
Post by: Exonian on 29 September 2011, 06:09
Well it could either be a complete bargain or .... the opposite!!

Got this through in an email (no connection with the company personally and no plans to have any connections with them!!)

Discuss/argue/take the piss

Looks like a nice way to get a 299 incl VAT for 99 quid

If I'm reading their web correctly they use Quantum remaps which cost 299 quid but I think they are WOW power remaps which are infact remaps

I didn't read it but we also offer postal remaps for Bosch EDC15 cars (1.9PD upto 2005 normally and other pd engines from year 2001) on eBay.  It's just a cheap way to get a quality remap in these hard up times.. as long as the customer can whip out their ECU and do without the car for a couple of days whilst the postman deals with the parcel.

Thing is with a postal map is that the engine condition is not known.  Im sure 90% of all people wouldnt know exactly what to look for when taking a car for a remap, such as piping issues, split hoses, sensors, live data etc.  It would make a small underlying problem, maybe not even noticable on a stock map, more worse and could kill the engine.

Its those types or remaps id always advise to keep away, IMHO

That's true and anyone buying a remap solely on price needs to their head read really.  However our offer is for a small section of cars and the maps are tried and tested (and warranted for life of the ECU).  I would also argue that if your car is suffering such problems, remapped or not.. it will give you problems.
