Evening all, I am in the process of buying a GTI 1.8 turbo, it has a slipping clutch and the trip computer is flashing can anyone tell me how hard it is to change the clutch and why is the computer flashing, many thanks peeps

upgrade clutch to the g60 flywheel vr6 clutch kit job done :smiley:

not sure on flashing dash can u get a code reader to plug in that will help u

which bit is flashing? the trip or the centre screen?

The trip and it is beeping is it just showing that there is a fault with the clutch

No nothing mate just flashing on and off and beeping, is it hard to replace the clutch in a mk4

if ur not a mechanic then yes will be a pro job, its gearbox out, drivshaft off etc

My mate is a mechanic so will throw it his way, is there anything to look for when buying a mk4, it has done 130,000 miles is that a problem

if its been looked after then that mileage will not be a problem :smiley:
have a good scan through maintenace section :smiley:

the trip could be for due service, but the centre screen should also say service due, weird :huh:

Might be worth getting it scanned for codes before parting with the money if you can.
