what did you rebuild? use oversized pistons?

could be a sticky ring, pour a bit red ex into the cylinders.

i had this problem on my ford feista xr2i,after rebuild ,it would run fine until hot: ie: if i turn it off and tryed starting it, it wouldnt turn over seized until it cooled down.It did my head in,i tryed frashing the hell out of it to wear them down.Sorted in the end ,took ages ,maybe i did the big ends up to much.God know.

Could have the dreaded 00575 code. You had it scanned? You checked for split pipes?

well it has an AGU bottom end with a BFB head  The VVT solinoed is not connected so should not create any problems.

It runs fine once warm.

only fault is
1 Fault Found:
17953 - Throttle Valve Controller: Malfunction
            P1545 - 35-00 - -
Readiness: N/A

It also has a AGU inlet manifold on a small port head,  I have got a tapered gasket so that sorted that problem.
