Title: 1.8t door locks problem
Post by: ELCAP1TAN0 on 28 September 2011, 18:35
Hey, my car has developed a strange problem. The key controls to open and lock the car are fine. However using the lock and open buttons on the door panel I.e. Where the window controls are, to open all door locks are fine however when I go to lock all doors it locks all of them, but then immediately unlocks both left doors straight away. Confused the hell out of me. Wouldn't normally worry about it but if the wife is in my car on her own she likes the feature.

Any ideas on how to sort it out? It's a 5 door '99 1.8t.

Cheers

What, on the both left doors? Or in The drivers door panel controls?

This has only, I think started doing this since I had a new battery fitted. It seems a bit coincidental, if that makes any difference since. Noticed the problem, seems it's one a bit dooolally

Any ideas? I'm guessing this strings problem must have happened to someone on here before?

Mine does the same mate. I got a 3dr tho. Locks fine with fob but when im in the car and i go to lock the doors via the door inside (by the window switch) the left side pops back up. I have a little nack u have to be quick tho..process kinda goes...press lock button..wait for about half a second and quickly press the lock button again and it locks  ..not the best i no but u could give it a go. It does get on my wick tbh.

If there is away at resetting the door modual would be good to see if it helps my problem also if not money is on a faulty door mondual lol

I think that could be a micro switch issue as my passenger door does that and the switch is dodgy.
