Title: Parts cleaner fluid(what do you use?)

So ive just been given a spangly new Draper parts cleaner

and im wanting the fluid for it now.I use one at work all the time but its a different type where the washer sits on top of ca 50 gallon drum.
Now normally id just fill bottles up with the stuff from work but it's proper loppy so i wont bother.

I know machinemart do 25ltrs of the stuff made by Clarke but its pants with it being water based.
I was thinking of using paraffin and lobbing 5litres of GUNK or Jizer in there but i dont have a clue where to get some paraffin from!

Anyone got any ideas?

Have just bought a similar (Clarke) one of these. It says in great big warning letters "do not use flammable degreaser in this machine" but seeing as degreaser is naturally flammable I take that with a large pinch of salt and believe it is them safeguarding themselves due to idiots using petrol in it.

My father in-law runs a chemical cleaning company (mixes it from scratch) and he's getting me some of the less flammable stuff (still got the warning on the bottle) so I can let you know what it's made of when I get it. However, that ain't gonna be for a couple of weeks... :rolleyes:

Well thats inconsiderate,tell him to get a wiggle on  :laugh: yeah that would be great mate thanks.Im struggling to find parrafin unless its in 1litre bottles.Its a 56l bed but i reckon 25litres will be ok in it.
The prices im getting back is about £89 for 25 litres which i think is a bit harsh :sick:

I think the warning for using flammable liquid is because some of the seals in the pump cant take it and it deteriorate quicker.But for the amout id use it i doubt it will be a problem.
I can see some numpty filling the bath with petrol though :grin:

seen a numptie useing and igniteing one they filled with paint thinners  :shocked:   to be fair its really effective  but fooking hell when it catches light you have a BIG problem  that stuff makes petrol look tame.

Well i can get 25litres of Electrosol which is basically clutch and brake cleaner for electrical items.But seeing as though its as flammable as thinners i reckon i will give it a miss as the last thing i want to do is be grinding/burning or welding and have to worry about me garage going up  :grin:

Ive been offered a load of kerosene for nowt but not sure how effective it is at cleaning parts :undecided:

Look on yell.com for your local safetyclean agent and see if you can get the fluid from them.
