I prefer that one out the three. i currently have a kenwood slightly older than that one. does the job! :)
-
The Kenwood looks ok for the money.
-
Depends wat you want touch or non im getting touch one next week and I heard good things about xtron so up to you
-
thanks kenwood it is
-
Ah ok
-
thanks kenwood it is
I thought you wanted to 'watch dvd's?'
-
I like the first one and looks good for the money in terms of what it can play, touch screen etc.
Its your car, go for what you like the look of and the functions you want/need
-
stay well away from these, i had one got it professionally wired in and it cut my dashlights out, then when i was driving home that night, cut my headlights out. deffinatly wasnt the wiring as it used exactly the same as the standard head unit. took out the dvd player and everything worked fine. in my experience, go for something thats well branded you pay for what you get!
-
Sounds to me like someone didnt do a good job with the wiring, not the stereo.
Professionally fitted doesnt mean anything, have you ever been to Halfords, they offer a few professional fitting services, the senior guy behind the parts desk didnt know that a V6 car needed 6 plugs
-
I got one similar, good kit for the price, highly recommend. Wiring met the iso standard, just like with most headunits on vag cars you only need to throw two cables over, yellow and red:
Here's some talking about my headunit from another post, its an older headunit but has GPS etc as well:
Here's a royal slap from another thread, that links another thread, with another thread link!

Check my posts out, a lot of detail on fitting a double din unit, as I said this in the thread:
Its a cheap ebay chinese unit with no brand, initially I was going to get a branded one but prices are ridiculous. I went to the states on holiday and named units were more expensive so I gave the ebay unit a go after reading a few reviews.
It has, usb, ipod connection, gps and two sd slots (one for sat nav), steering wheel connections, sub connections.
As for fitting it, it is straight forward and cheap, as the golfs double din space is too big you need a plastic adapter £25-35 (plenty off info on it if you search). I did a bit more, I put in another fusebox in for future add ons £12-15, fed a separate power source from the battery in and fitted a rocker switch to kill power. Followed by an aerial adapter £3 due to the unit having a different antenna socket.
As for the unit I have had it about a year now and I am chuffed with it, sound quality is average, but the sat nav function is very good, it also allows use off different software, I had tomtom on there which was a fiddle, but in the end I went with iGo8 which imo is the best gps software which is what I had on my phone.
As I am on my phone, I just did a quick search off what I posted in the past, so check it out and the links:
Cheap ebay one?
Think I was meant to post this up a while back, but banburyCo also did a similar job using a cheap ebay double din (his face comes off, mine doesn't). Mine has sat nav, camera inputs, Ipod adapter aux-in etc... Fitted easily and cheaply. There is a thread here when banbury did his install, but I talk about mine abit as I installed my unit prior to his.

man thats nice ,i bet its not the cheap one i was looking at.My kenwood one should be here tomorrow touch wood.
-
Think I payed no more than £180... altogether to fit it was £230 with me doing the work, due to adding an additional fusebox (not necessary, but if you plan to link more powered items in, it does make it a lot easier, like gauge).
Have a look on ebay, they have changed a lot since I bought one, they come with more features now days as models vary drastically for hardly much price difference... like they now have additional wires for reverse gear etc... Only thing I wouldn't bother with is fitting the TV kit, a real car aerial costs in the £100 and it goes under your roof liner.
It's just over 2 years since that's been fitted and no problems.
-
cool.Kenwood for me for now ,better than my single din ripspeed dvd stereo that sticks out well bad.£20 if anyone wants it cost me more than the kenwood double din.
-
avoid the cheap touch screen sh!te as i found out after 2 days
