Hi, I just bought my valver and it had no spare!! I looked in the boot and thought 'that's a big hole, best get me a full size wheel'. Well I did, and fook me it's too big. My question is, did VAG do a Mk3 carpet with a hump, like they did for Corrado and Mk2?
Many thanks!
If yes, anyone near Bath got a spare?

I don't think you get them mate as most of the mk3's came with a narrower spacesaver wheel exept the earlier models which had thin wheels as standard and fitted in the spare wheel well without the need for a hump in the carpet. I may be wrong though so someone may come along and correct me.

My 97 mk3 has a space saver.

I think they all had spacesavers tbh.

Anyone want to buy a 15" alloy???? Lol.
Nevermind I'll have to make one!!
Thanks

Spacer saver in my Anni, looks bloody tiny compared to the RX2s though.

I've only ever seen spacesavers as well.

My 05 1.4cl had a normal wheel with a hump in the carpet. Was very handy for stopping shopping etc moving around in the boot!
Current 16v anniversary has a space saver though

im now on the huint for a 1.4 carpet...currently useing a cut up jetta carpet to cover my wheel bulge!

Is there ment to be a bit of wood or something on top of the spare under the carpet as mine just has carpet on top of wheel and it makes the boot floor dip in the middle which makeup sub box move around in the boot.
Is that how they came?

I am 99% sure they did not have wood under the carpet, mine did not thats for sure.

The jack and tools strapped into the centre of the wheel should stop any dipping in the carpet.

mines got thin wood under it, think its a early car thing as the carpet on early cars is paper thin, i replaces mine with the later carpet but kept the wood too
i also swapped the cheap foam side parts for later carpet bits too (got some of these spare for sale too if anyone needs) also got the boot carpet in the car I'm scrapping but its too big to post
