Which is quickest? When are you going? It's it's night time the motorway route might be a good option.

i wouldn't even dream of attempting that journey during the day. the only route you should take is motorway at night. anything else and it will take about 8 hours

well forget the M3 on a monday morning northbound...  :grin:

try the A3 and then you get the delights of the hindhead tunnel and you cut out a chunkage of miles too  :evil:

or you could try A27/A23/M23/M25/M20/M2 ->

tbh I am not 100% on what the best route would be... I'd quite fancy the coastal route myself

A route I've plied on many occasions.  A3 M25 etc FTW.

Go Fishbourne, not Red Funnel.

Mate I spent a year living there and whatever way you go is long and boring. I used to go m3 m25 m27 and it took roughly 2.5 hours.

Funny little place though! Almost like 2 towns in 1 town. Fun seafront with good bars and stuff and now has a massive shopping centre.

M27? No. Whatever the m25 turned into.

Long though. Not as long as the train journey though.

once your through to junction 10 on the m25 you won't hit any traffic all the way to broadstairs. it's the first half of the journey that's gonna be a pig

you probably want to do the last part on the M2 / Thanet way

Take the M3 => M25 => M26 => M20 => A249 => M2 => A299

Much quieter, more direct / dual carriageway / motorway all the way.
