as above. when im driving im paying full attention to the road, but sometimes i see men & WOMEN, yes WOMEN too on their phone in their hands BLARING away. says its a 5mins drive, i seen over 6 people men & women on their phone. gets right on my titties!!! :angry: i even shout get off the farking fone KANT!!

Often, I find they're either van drivers or knobbers driving posh cars.

Yeah it annoys me too but the police have probably been told to concentrate on bigger things.
One guy today in some big 4x4 tailgaiting us whilst he was on the phone. Soon got an ear bashing at the lights and just went red in the face.

9/10 times that I've seen it, its been women. Coming home from work today was a prime example, she was just in front of me and she was all over road (40mph road too), wasnt paying attention as she came over the brow of the hill with a set of lights about 100 yds after. Traffic was stopped quite far back but she didnt notice until late, and had to slam her anchors on. I came up beside her to give her the look, and shes laughing away on the phone! What made it worse is that there was a young boy and a baby in the back! :angry: Shook my head whilst mouthing "you stupid b!tch". She just mouthed back "feck off". Obviously a really nice person! In a piece of crap 307 too....... Some people have no class what so ever. :angry:

This pisses me off more and more especially when its someone with their kids in the back, its my companies policy that if you are caught on your phone whilst driving in company time its instant dismissal. They really need to clamp down on this a bit more, over time it will become as unacceptable as drink driving its just going to take a lot more accidents before people realise this. :angry:

I've seen a few Asian lads in souped up/flash cars with one hand on the wheel and one on the phone. If you're that flash, why don't you get a phone kit?
I saw one white chav in a corsa swerving in his lane, trying to text. I was pissed off because there was a speed camera ahead so couldn't speed off.
What's winding me up almost as much is people who listen to their music with earphones on whilst driving. I have music on but never loud enough to block out all external sound.

Everyone managed it ok when it wasn't illegal.
I used to hate pricks that told me to get off the phone, I even threw my phone straight into some righteous cnuts face he peeved me that much.
Message is, unless your a copper don't tailgate, flash your lights an semi overtake to scream abuse at me when my family's in the car. Cos who's the reckless thingy then?
And FYI i before the knobbers get involved i was in traffic On my way to my dying Nans bedside.

I wouldn't tailgate anyone or give them any verbal to get off their phone its their choice I just give the cnuts a wide berth.

the other day on the way to work, some muppet in a flash car was on the phone, but he was also in the 2nd lane of the dual carridgeway and doing under the speed limit for that road (40) hence slowing everyone up, this is one of the main roads into bham city centre as well, not once did he think to move over out of the way, so i under cut him and made him aware of what i thought of him :angry:
edit: he was also smoking at the same time

using a phone is nothing,
i have heard stories before, but rarely see it cos i havent had to do much commuting before.
but I have seen a woman driving along applying make up :shocked: , lippy, blusher and then EYE LINER, all whilst on the move.
bad enough you might think,
all this was done with a ciggy in the other hand :shocked: :shocked: :shocked: :shocked: :shocked: :shocked: :shocked:

On the rare occasion I use the phone while driving. On this thing called a handsfree kit. For some reason concentration on the road is improved vastly with one. Even then I dont particularly like using it as it is a distraction.

Everything's a distraction when you're driving, changing the radio station, talking to your passengers, turning round to tell the kids to put their bloody seatbelt on, billboards, weird looking people walking by.
Honestly if you can't handle a collective of tasks don't drive.

The penality if caught is not enough of a deterrent. A higher fixed penalty and a ban would be better.

There was a news report on it a few years back. The old bill pulled some chap over for suspected mobile phone use.
He vehemently protested his innocence, but it turned out he had a hand held electric razor and was having a shave on the way to work!!

I've driven on the phone once on a quiet motorway. Found I wasn't concentrating as much on the road. Far more then any of the above.

i've got an aux cable in my stereo, if someone rings i just say answer and boom, in conversation..

As I travel the A1M between Peterborough and huntingdon every day (for those that dont know it its a 4 lane stretch of motorway which is pretty much dead straight for approx 15 to 20 miles,
seen people reading books, maps, newspapers.
women applying makeup
HGV drivers on mobiles
etc etc
I feel mobile phone use being banned is very big brother I know its a distraction but lets be honest eating drinking smoking, changing the radio channel changing a cd is just as bad.
When it was legal to use a mobile I did drive using my phone just used sense ie comming up to a roundabout or junction put the phone down simples
After all its not ilegal in America or wasnt last time I checked.

I haven't been told that, ticket every last one of them, only takes about 2 minutes to issue a ticket.

I use the phone in the car fairly often, if there's no passenger to take it for me. Like f**k am I gonna mess around with pulling into a service station to take a call when I can do it on the move.
People like to overreact towards other road users. :tongue:

look if you own the brain capacity to multi-task, then you might have the skills to talk on your phone, but 99% of people i've seen drive on the phone are either using 2 lanes at the same time, driving at 20mph, or are picking there noes with the other finger
tbh the driving test is way too easy for people nowadays, and they are way to may people out on the road that shouldnt be in control of complex machinary like bicycles never mind cars!

driving whilst using a phone could be added to the test, if you can maintain control, your licence then allows you to use the phone when driving!

I've spent months and months travelling from north to south most weekends and use my phone.. Don't see any issue with it tbh, but now I have a radio with satnav and built in bluetooth to install, just so the cops can't say owt!

Was walking home from work today and there's a junction I have to cross. It was a bit jammed up today so traffic was moving slowly. Renault Clio creeping forward occasionally then leaving large gaps to the car in front (20-30feet at least). Almost causes two accidents whilst creeping out of lane - yup, teenage girl texting on her pink phone paying no attention whatsoever.
