Title: Superchip on mk5 gti
Post by: Soarerv8 on 22 April 2005, 20:46
So I have had the mk5 Gti for about 6 weeks and as usual with cars I start to get a little fidgetty. I have been looking at superchips and see that for 500 quid I can up things to about 240bhp. Anyone else done this yet?

I have a BMW 530D which I have chipped and it made quite a noticeable difference (toying with the idea of ordering a new 535D, when chipped it has more torque than the new M5).

My main concern is that I don't want to put too much power through the front wheels and ruin the balance of a car that is very nicely set up.

Be happy to hear anyone elses opinion (unless it is different to mine in which case I will most likely ignore it).

Adrian

i'd wait a while and see what the other tuners come up with.. superchips reputation was dodgy in the past, although they seem to have overcome that.

from what i've been told i wouldnt chip it if you have dsg .. few teething troubles.

I had one of the first mkv golf tdi dsg's in the country, and i had it chipped at oettinger and must say it ran perfectly for 16k before i sold it.
