Title: K03 or the k03s???? Searching......
Post by: kstevens88 on 20 September 2011, 20:16: Ok..... As your well aware from my last post I'm having a few mixed decisions on what turbo I need.

My turbo blew on the way back from working in France and my poor little motor is stuck in the middle of a fricking no where village at a French hill-billy garage and I'm back in the uk having to use my legs lol.

Is there any way in the world that I would beable to know if the turbo on my car standard is the k03 or the k03s WITH-OUT being able to look at the part personally.

Sorry about the rant lol and thanks to those who gave me the info on the last post.

If anybody can held with this I would be highly greatfull.

to me though sounds like a good time to upgrade to the k03s :D

The engine number on my v5 reads AUM028888 if that's any help.

Just to clarify my car is the 150bhp and not the anniversary 180bhp

AUM 150bhp & AUQ 180BHP both have the same turbo and hardware the extra 30bhp comes from the ecu software.

Spoke to Volkswagen today but they refused to give me a part number as Im not purchashing the turbo personally from them.

If anybody knows this would be great.

I rang up 2 vw garages and asked for a part number but the last 2 letters are different.

The first item code was 06A145713DX.

The second code was 06A145713FX

Hopefully that means something to someone cause it means f**k all to me!! Haha

can you tell if this is a silenced version from that code?

Doe this actual make any differnce ? (silenced?) which cars come with silenced?

I friend Of mine has one with k03/52 not sure what car ti came off

Post by: Wazzzer on 24 September 2011, 21:44: I have the 052 which is silenced and was from a Leon Cupra with the AUQ engine so I hope so. As far as I'm aware the AUM only came with the non silenced K03s but I may be wrong. It's easy to spot as it has a big metal part added to to outlet pipe

Post by: kstevens88 on 25 September 2011, 19:06: Ok so I've been doing a bit of research over the internet and can across that apparently the AJM engines were factory fitted with a K03s however if they had been replaced in a garage they would have been fitted with a K03 for some reason!!!

I know that the previous owner the the owner before him had a turbo fitted so it's possible that it could have been fitted with a K03.....

If I was to buy myself the K03s would there be any different parts that I should by aswell?

Also is there any difference between the silenced and the unsilenced or would they both fit???
