Hi all, ive started to mod my 1999 gti 1.8 t, ive bought a cold air induction kit and cleaned out the TB and its made loads of diff to the performance.
Im just wondering what to do next apart from the obvious of a performance exhaust or re-map? any suggestions?
-
put the original airbox back on
Then get an exhaust and remap
-
k03s, sports/decat downpipe and a remap
or just a remap if not wanting to spend too much
-
decat and stainless was my favorite mod for performance and then the remap
-
so im guessing a stainless exhaust and remap is pritty much it then eh!!
-
.....by the way could anyone recomend a good place for a re-map in the north east and how much im gonna be looking at??

Deffo a remap. Done it on both my 1.8t's. Takes a boring car and makes it fun to drive :D

You have all totally convinced me to a re-map, does it only cost about 200 quid? i thought it would of set me back at least 350!
going on holls next wk then il get it done whem i get back ( looking forward to the re-map more than the holiday ha!)

Always worth taking the trip to a recommended tuner. The drive back alone is well worth it :afro: But you also know that's its been given a thorough inspection prior to remapping. Any one of the forum sponsors won't remap unless they are satisfied your car is in a healthy condition
See it all too often when people have remaps and something goes wrong so blame the remap when its underlying hardware issues which causes the problems
