Title: Mark 2 Central Locking Problems
Post by: ChrisG on 20 September 2011, 10:13
Hi guys,

I'm looking for some pointers to help with my central locking. When trying to lock the car off he immobiliser key fob, the pump is kicking in and the locks are driving closed - I can see the lock pins trying to drop down but they don't make it and the car doesn't lock.

Any ideas? Pump u/s? Leak somewhere?

Any advice appreciated.

Chris

You either have a leak or the pump is on the way out. As you know its all vacuum operated.

I had this problem with mine earlier this year and it was down to the car battery.....

I had a crappy GSF one and it just wouldn't drive the pump... Put in a Bosch battery and it works 1st time every time...

I checked all the pumps & pipes, lubed them all up and the only thing that soerted it was the battery... I know it sounds daft but it's true...
