Title: Bora S3
Post by: Yohan on 18 September 2011, 22:19
Hi Nick,

I'll definitely be coming down on Monday 26th now, can't leave it any later because I'll be stuck for work and be offshore on and off throughout October.

Any luck with the colder plugs or richer burn?

Cheers,

John

Nick

To quote you from a post on uk-mkivs where a guy had lean running issues.

"Hello,

Check the vac pipe going to the FPR, plus while your under there check the rest of the small vac pipes as well they tend to go hard and crack. If the FPR vac line is fecked it will make the car running lean and pre-det mid range when comming on boost.  Is it the same on 98RON+

The results from the measuring block session should shed some light on the issue..

Nick"

Is that the same problem we are currently having?

Thats the first thing we do when the car comes in, a full smoke test and vac line inspection.  Its scaling fuel when boosting but cannot flow at the top end, maybe runing the  fuel rail at 4bar statci has finished the v6 160k fuel pump.  It will be running 3 bar once finished.

Nick, this is the code I was talking about.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 03: ABS Brakes        Labels: Redir Fail!
   Part No: 1J0 907 379 AB
   Component:  ESP     20   CAN  V005
   Coding: 00214
   Shop #: WSC 31414
   VCID: 71EC41AD1139

00778 - Steering Angle Sensor (G85)
            37-10 - Faulty - Intermittent
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And also when I dropped it off to you there was an airbag resistance too high one. I believe it's because the slip ring behind the steering wheel is goosed.
