As per title above , I currently own iphone 4 and want another smart phone, but not apple what are your views ? Which is fastest and best chip ?
Dont get me wrong love my iphone just fancy a change ??? Cheers Steve
-
I believe its the Samsung galaxy s2 at the momment. with 500mb of ram. But there is faster stuff on the horizon.
-
Depends if you are happy to root and flash your phone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S and it is super fast. I put a different Rom and Kernel on it every 3/4 weeks, so feels like a whole new phone each month.
-
galaxy s2 has a 1.2ghz dual core processor, 768mb ram, 2gb boot drive and 16gb storage with a micro sd slot. it's the fastest out atm.

This feels a little brittle and would it really last 2 yrs is my question ???

i have one. i have dropped it several times and there's not a mark on it. it's because it's lighter than most phones but don't let that put you off. it's an awesome bit of kit
-
Wait a few months for the quad core phones to come out, I suspect this may be why the iphone5 is so late... could be waiting for the quad core CPU's to be manufactured.
You know my feelings, the HTC's have solid build quality feel over the likes of Samsung and Sony's (that I've played with) and have a great interface.

the new blackberry that i have has a 1.2ghz processor also

BB or RIM if you like have just lost 3 billion on the stock market and thats mainly due to poor products, and belive me they fall to bits in time
-
RIM is going to go the same way as Novell, Nortel, Sun and many others... they'll hemerage money until another company comes along to buy up the left overs & patents. It's too late now for RIM imo, they were once a market leader and are now a marker looser, not dissing their products because I've heard good things about the latest BB's, but they are loosing business big time.

Depends if you are wanting to purchase shares or a phone. The bb i have does everything i would do on an iphone4 but better. they keyboard is fantastic, its fast, and most importantly i get my email when i need them.
-
Gilly I want a phone thats going to last mate and not fall to bits , My partner's daughter's BB has had nothing but problems also my mates have had the same issues
-
tbf Steve all smartphones have problems, be they Samsung, HTC, Apple, RIM or others, bad components occur for every manufacturer.

i have had BB for last few years and have yet to come across one that has fallen to bits. I drop, kick, and even throw my phone sometimes.... i havent had a phone fall to bits on me yet, be it BB, nokia, SE or other. Cannot count the number of times these fancy touch screen things end up with a cracked screen though :lipsrsealed:
.. its your call at the end of the day, but if you want a PHONE that is better at the phone part of things that all others... then the 9900 is the one. Trust me I spent alot of time looking at the competition. :nerd:

If you worryed about the phone. Get the insurance for 10 quid a month then call up to cancel and they will give you the idiot proof insurance for 7 quid a month. I know my S2 wont last more than 8 months. So i f**k it up and they give me a new one

go in store and have a play with the top range phones, even the HTC's, you may be surprised. Pick the one you like the most, but I'd still suggest waiting until later this year for the quad core's
-
I picked up a HTC Sensation at the weekend. I did have an iphone 3GS. Loving the HTC over the iphone now. Rooted it, got the kernal running at 1.51 ghz duo core.
Screen is amazing. Just to say, qHD screens have advantages over Galaxy S 2 screens - one of the reasons why I didnt get a S2.
Got the contract for £36 p/m 900 mins, unl texts and net. plus £70 cash back for an old Nokia 3310!!!

Jay who's bringing out the quad core's :undecided:

They will all be, the processors on most of the phones are the same or very similar. That's why I said to wait for them and play with each for 5 minutes in store to see which YOU prefer - the quads are said to have much better battery life over the dual core, despite being faster. If it were right now and you couldn't wait I'd get a HTC Sensation XE, it's got the latest 1.5ghz dual core processor with the legendary Beats Audio and a bigger battery, a very nice phone indeed.

Bit disappointing if it comes here with the dual and not quad core.
