Can anybody supply Pm or post a pic of a mk2 16v KR engine? Specifically the pulley setup, unmodified?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers in advance NB

I own a mk2 16v, what do you need exactly. Can help you out with a picture tomorrow when it is light...

As a above really, need the route that the alternator belt takes. Does it go round the crank pulley too? By that I mean does it go round 2 pulleys or 3?
I have fitted the new power steering belt as that hadn't snapped. I suspect that the alternator belt goes round 3 pulleys but it's making the alternator sit very low in the engine bay. Alternator is almost resting on the block. The adjustment arm is no where near the top of the alternator now, yet when I lay old belts and new belts over one another they appear to be identical

Yeah it does round the crank pulley. It goes round crank pulley, alternator and water pump :)

Cheers, that's what I concluded too.
Proper confused as both alt and power steering belts appear to be the correct size.
Have got the alt belt on and the power steering on but alternator is sitting so low in the bay that the top nut on the alternator is no where near where it's supposed to be?
Having said that I keep getting rained on every time I try to get a good look at it.

You got the right belt? There is a PAS belt and Non PAS belt

Well the both the new belts I have I've measured against the old ones. There is nothing in it size wise. Motofactor got the reg no to source the correct belts. That's not to say their infallible, but measuring the belts suggest they are the right ones. Something stupid going on, not sure what though.

Mine has power steering but halfords still gave me a belt that was a bit too small, i went to GSF with the original belt and the first one they brought out was wrong too, but it was measured there and then so he went back and got the correct one.
And yes, it goes around the crank pulley. Three pulleys in a triangle.
The other belt goes around the 2 remainding pulleys.
Do you still need a pic?

cheers for the reply, turns out I was supplied with the wrong belt. I have no idea how the AA man routed the old one, I got given an 865mm one rather than the 950mm one I needed.
Taken as a lesson learned, and not to doubt myself so much
Off to do it now so fingers crossed it's the right one.

Well thread resurrection I know, but thought I would follow up on this with a bit of advice from my experience. Don't get Copart parts, they're pish. Been on 4000 miles and they are baggier than Nora Batties tights and squeal like a hamster in a mangle.
Now ordered some Contitech ones .
