Title: alternators ?

Are the alternators the same on all models ?.Would one from an 8v fit a vr6 for instance ?.Thanks.

Before getting a new one, check what current output it is. Dont know if the VR is higher tbh, but iirc aircon equipped cars have higher.

They also vary in output as well depending on engine and if you have air conditioning.
 eg. 8v with no a/c = 70amp, 16v with a/c = 90amp, VR6 = 120amp

Belts will also vary in length and width depending on the alternator used due to the different pulley wheels and whether a/c is fitted.
