Hello guys , im currently toying with the idea of an engine conversion ..
Heres what i have , A Basic 1.4 L mk3 golf , i am pretty bored of the lack of power , lack of acceleration , lack of tyre smoke etc...
I live in london and have to drive slow everywhere because of speedbumps and its all taken its toll on me and now im extremely bored and want speed !
Im going to raise the car a tad and now i want the speed aspect

The only option i have is a conversion , no point buying performance parts for a 1.4
So the question is -
Whats the best engine to convert to ?
Best on fuel economy ?
Easiest to do ?
If i bought a rear end damaged vr6 ? , or how hard is it to do the 1.8T ?
Im a mechanic myself so the labours not a problem , just want the easiest that i could do within a weekend ?
Cheeers guys !

a vr6 would be easier to do and alot cheaper, you might aswell buy a vr6 instead as you can get them cheap now,a 1.8t would be 2000+ to convert if you cant do it yourself

Just buy another car . Seriously, you have a bog basic mk3 with none of the bits that make the faster versions barely worthwhile. The insurers wont like you banging a bigger engine in there without installing all the better bits so sell what you have and put it to something better, anything else would be stupid unless you want to spend time and money for no reason.
