My vw golf mk3 vr6 came with 280mm brake disc and i plan to upgrade to the later mk3 vr6 288mm brake disc,by upgrade to 288mm brake disc is my vr6 braking performance is going to improve alot?Is it worth the effort for the job and money spend?
Thank You.

it will improve the braking abit tbh. i have 288mm on my anni and yesterday if it wasnt for the handling and braking i think i would have ended up into the back of a p!ssat
-
when i had a early gti with 280 then changed to 288 the wheels didnt fit over the brakes
-
i know they will fit over the 15" longbeach wheels as the P+ plates have the 288mm disks.

I was looking at this link from the link above but could'nt quite understand what the point would be in fitting the bigger discs but with standard 288mm calipers ?.
http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?216210 "note - later spec vr6 guys with 288mm brakes can use the original caliper"
I'm thinking the surface contact would be just the same as using standard 288mm discs ?.

15" wheels will fit over both sizes.
No point in changing tbh.
