I fancy fitting a set of 17''s to my MK3. Just wondering if any mods are required to accommodate the slight increase in diameter. Cheers.

shouldn't be normally but, depends on condition of suspension or wether or not it is lowererd and by how much. needs to run a 205/40/17 tyre

This depends on a great many factors such as existing ride height and suspension travel, wheel width, wheel offset, tyre size, tyre brand etc etc.
TBH 17's on a MK3 shouldn't be a major trauma providing you stick to a 17x7.0 with an offset of +35 to +42 with 205.40.17's. This shouldn't rub on a std height MK3.
