ive got a problem with the golk as the driver door handle wont open no matter how hard i try, its not a problem yet as i have not passed my test but it will son. how do you fix it.
-
depending on why its not working this may be the easiest thing to do!!
take the little metal (or maybe plastic) strip out of the front of the handle by pinging it out with a screwdriver. underneath is a screw, un-do it. then with the door open look just inside the door and you'll see a second screw, undo that!!! the door handle will then come off, go to a scrappy and get a spare one and swap the barrells over so you can still use your key in it. put handle back on door and do up the screws. job done.
if that doesn't work or you think its something else come back and ask again!!! i take it it opens from the inside? is it definately the handle or could it be the catch?

Could also be the catch mechanism. All comes out very easily (follow haines manual) and just pop some grease onto all the bearing surfaces inside the unit. If you look inside you will see that there is a lever which can rub against the side of the casing. Mine was full of crap and was not releasing, but has worked perfectly since. A 5p cost and 10 minute fix!

I had the same problem 2 days ago! I ended up snapping the handle! Got a new handle from a VW Polo in the scrappy for £5! I know - i was robbed! I should have just shoved it in my pocket and walked out the scrappy with my head down!
Anyway, it really is as easy as one of the previous answers says. Good luck!
