It's so slow it won't load up your speedtest results  but I'm guessing they're faster than (my now increased) 0.2MB/s

Also noticed server has been moved from Sittingbourne to Canterbury.

Our servers in a data centre in London on the internet 'backbone' get a varying speed from these tests, anywhere from 2Mb to 80mb, even though they have 1gb network cards and gig+ links between said servers and our providers & peers. Take those test results with a pinch of salt as the servers doing the testing may not be able to handle that much data at that particular time or at all, lots of other factors too.

Pity you can't use the BT Speed Test service ........

use netstumbler, find a 'free' channel and set your wireless router to use that or as channel with the least amount of other networks on it.

Ran a Net Stumbler type program and stuck the wifi and on an unused channel and no improvement.

let it run for a few minutes then screen shot it and post the image up.

How old is the router? Are you using a separate wifi router for wireless?

Are you in the same room as the wifi router? If not how thick are the walls? and can you try from the same room?
Have you tried from a different wireless computer/laptop?
download a speed test app onto your smartphone if you have one and see what it says.

Jay,

I'm 10ft from the router no walls between. Setup was fine and nothing has changed.

It's a Virgin Media ( Netgear) Super(sh!te)hub.

Got my Mac on ethernet, running fine, the other halfs Windows laptop that won't even load speedtest.net

Going to download speedttest through itunes for my iphone as wifi is too slow!

How old is the router? Might be able to exchange it with Virgin?

It's about 2 months old, going to give them a bell. Can't even use another router as it has the bit chunky white cable straight into the back of it..

That's ALOT of wireless networks, just seen the image.

Put yourself on channel 3 or 4 and see if that improves things.

Yup, but there's a lot on 1 and 6 and  the 'furthest' you are from any other hogged channel the better so might ease things for you

Have you had any new neighbours lately?

Not that I know of

Anyway, Mr Virgin has remote controlled my Mac unclicked a few boxes and hey presto all is good....

Thanks for your help Jay!
