Since putting the new exhaust on i have required a slight whistle noise coming from the downpipe area :undecided:
its got a straight through with a shiny decat
I got under it today (the sun was shining )and took a look at the section that goes from the cat to the downpipe, and noticed this:

There is a slit,is that supposed to be like that,i think the whistle is coming from there. :undecided:
Its an 8v 2.0 :lipsrsealed:

I thought you had to sell up?
Just tell them it is a turbo!

If your manifold/downpipe was blowing anywhere you would know it,it would be quite loud.
Funny enough i recently fitted a decat and powerflow system to mine and i can hear a very slight whistle as well.I have'nt investigated it yet though so if you find out why please update this.

Well I had a tiny blow hole in the Mi16 manifold that you could hardly hear!
But thats on a tube 8into4into1 manifold so wont apply here!

The crack you have is just the heatshield on the downpipe. May rattle a little but doubt it would cause a whining like a turbo! Could be wrong I guess, but nothing to worry about with it blowing as already suggested.

Yeah thanks for reminding me
got to wait two weeks before i make a decision
im now thinking it could be gasket on manifold :undecided:
This is what happens when you have too much time on your hands
