hey guys
my flatmate (graphic design type) and me might be starting to make up custom dials for golfs and polos.
Designs can be anything you want, be it a picture, weird pattern or anything really!
just seeing who's interested. Prices should be fairly cheap, probably about £15 a set. a lot cheaper than you'd get standard white ones from halfords!
120/140/160mph and 7/8k rpm cattered for. So far we'll be able to offer mk2 golf/jetta and probably mk3 golf and mk4 polo depending on if I can find the spare clocks to get the size and numbers from.
who's interested?
-
i would, thought about making some myself before but wasn't sure how accurate i'd get them and wasn't sure how i'd get the little logo's for petrol etc.... if you can make me some matching ones for my vdo gauges i may well have some!!
-
Fitting face is such a barsteward of a job tho. I would be tempted to get some but I wrecked my clocks when I tried to fit some whte dials. Both my Speedo and rev counter stopped working cause I couldn't get the damn needles off. I had to buy a new clock set!!!!!!
-
^^ shouldn't be that hard? most modern dial kits are designed so you don't have to take the needles off, just slide the dials over them then stick into place.
-
we'll be making ours so they're as easy as possible to fit.
do them with 200mph and 10k rpm on the clock if you want so you think you're going really fast lol
-
In that case DIzzie put me down for a set. MAybe some GolfGTi.co.uk branded ones!

^ now you're talking
-
can do those no problems.
I'll get a set made up to show you what I'm talking about.
and a free sample for JV if I know him!
-
Don't I get a free sample for suggesting it? He he.
-
LOL
-
I am interested to see the site design
-
I shall call my flatmate and tell him to get on the case today then as he has half day!
White face with grey logo on each dial in the middle?
ideas are welcomed for site dials
-
Try white and black faces, becuase the grey on the white might not show to well.
-
ok. I'll see what he can come up with. We've got 140 and 160mph speedos with 7 and 8k rpm faces already. will have to find a 120 to scan.
those are mk2 for now. I need to find my mk3 faces to scan those.
-
This is all coming together nicely. Anychance of having the GolfGTi.co.uk ones with my forum name chucked in too?
-
we can do anything you want dude!
Should have the site logo'd ones online tonight so you can see what we're doing.
-
Dizzie sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar. God bless you!
-
I would like a set of these possibly red background with white writing
and white vw logo in middle of the rev counter and the golfgti.co.uk
inbetween main mileage and the small mileage clock
mine are 160mph clocks reckon you could do that?
-
easy. I have 160mph/8k rpm already on my pc.
I'll let you know when production is go and we'll sort something out.
-
even if you did a small site logo for that bit inbetween the warning light section. think that would look kinda cool, venom and a few others put their logo there.
-
can you make any mk1 ones?
-
id have some if you can get some for a mk4
-
if I had mk1 clocks to copy I could easy.
not sure about mk4 ones. can always try.
-
Id be interested in some white 120mph ones, think white with black site logo and usernames would look so smart ie:

Could you do them with a thin cross pattern on too - do you know what i mean? my dad has an old nissan bluebird(the 1.8 turbo one) and the dials have like a grid behind them. Looks really sporty.
